About Me

Jean Greene: Jean Greene is an award winning sculptor, living and working in Dublin Her sculptures have been exhibited in The Royal Hibernian Academy, The Irish Concrete Society, Boyle Arts Festival, and Boscastle in Cornwall.

Jean has studied and worked in Concrete, Wood carving, and Bronze casting, however concrete is her preferred medium. Working in concrete is very challenging, demanding and ultimately greatly rewarding.

The Process. The original sculpture is made in clay from which a plaster mould is taken and then cast in concrete.The ultra smooth marble like finish is achieved by cleaning, hand-polishing with diamond pads, bagging up re-cleaning and finally waxing. The end result being highly visual and tactile.

Inspiration . This comes in many guises, mainly from Nature with its Organic textures and shapes. It is a source of endless fascination in all its unpredictable and unique manifestations.
